What are Sea Grapes? Seagrapes, known as Caulerpa lentillifera, are a type of seaweed or algae found underwater in the regions of the Pacific The similar resemblance to seaweed appear to have small bubbles of grapes gave it the name sea grapes. What Do Sea Grapes Taste Like? Sea grapes have a unique taste and texture. The taste of sea grapes is little salty or briny, just like the taste of ocean water. Interestingly, the sound of the sea grapes will bust into your mouth as puchi-puchi, which is an onomatopoeia refering to the popping of the sea grapes." How To Prepare Sea Grapes? Step 1:Dont be surprised with a tiny bag - enjoy rehydration process. Put one pack (25 g) in a bowl with 0.5l of water and wait 3-5 minutes. Then the magic happens as they grow 3-4 times in size. Step 2: Rinse sea grapes in clean, cool water a couple of times (recommended 3 times). This step removes the slight fishy smell in the seaweed. This step will also make seagrapes crispier and more delicious Step 3: Tailor the tastes. Enjoy your crunchy fresh sea grapes with seasame sauce or different kind of sauces (chili sauce, mustard, soy sauce...) depending on your taste. Seagrapes can be used as vegetables, making salads and eat together with sushi. Enjoy!
